Mixing the old with the new, with the soon-to be. I used new and old materials alike to give life to this very special girl! Her lovely tube top is made up from a lonesome sock, her raven eyes from mismatched sample coat buttons and her whole body filled with fabric scraps. Talk about recycling! I did use new yarn for the hair, and discarded fabric samples for her skirt and body.
Last Thursday: It was the end of the workday and I had a new assignment: To create, literally overnight 24 banner ads to fill a NYC Bus. I had to be ready to release the ads the next morning, so that they would ready for the shoot on Monday. All the illustration work is drawn by me. I wrote the copy as well, except on select ads, in which you can see the brilliant and funny copy of Kara King. I have a long commute so I’m been staring at subway ads for a long time. It was a lot of fun, and I hear they were a hit! Can’t wait to see which of these will end up in the final ad campaign images! I’ll keep you posted!
